He is famous for songs like Dear Slim, Push Up and You Can Take Every Part of Me and he is also a Dove Award Winning rapper. His new  record called Dangerous would be released next month and he talks to us about it. Check out our interview with KJ 52 here.

YADA: The new project, Dangerous comes out next month. What makes this album different from others?

KJ: This is the first record where I’m singing the majority of the choruses along with a return to my hip hop roots. There is no rock band collaborations on this record.  The majority of the collaborations are with hip hop artists.

YADA: What was the inspiration behind this album?

KJ: The people around me and the stuff that they are going through. Also true stories and things I’m seeing in Scripture

YADA: How has your sound and delivery changed in the new album?

KJ: It is a bit more refined along with  it being updated. Also it is more melodic and emotional.

YADA: Who are the producers and artists you got to work with on the new project?

KJ: I produced alongside Tedd T and Aaron Sprinkle while the artists include This’l, George Moss,  Lecrae, Dre Murray and Canton Jones.

YADA: What is your creative process like?

KJ: I will describe it as chaotic methodical and random (If that makes sense)

YADA: It has been roughly 10 years since Dear Slim. What has changed since then and do you still get Eminiem comparisons?

KJ: Somehow the comparison  has changed with a bit more acceptance along with respect for the genre and my craft.

YADA: Any advice for someone who is trying to make it in the music industry?

 KJ: Visit www.youtube.com/52academy

YADA: What non music project are you involved?

KJ: None right now.

YADA: Any international tours coming soon?

KJ: No unfortunately.

YADA: A final word for our readers

KJ: JESUS!  He’s all you need.
