There are few Nigerian artists who are different in their music and Sunday Bawa is one of them. Read to discover the talent that he is.

Sunday Atnadu Bawa was born 26th of September 1982 in a small town called Minna in Niger State, Nigeria. He grew up around musical influences like Silas Iyakwo (that got him singing a song of his “gyara ooh” at weddings at the age of 10), Bishop Idahosa Odiri of God First Mission, Emmanuel “dacapo” Edilli (who practically produced his first ever record “I will praise you lord” which had 16 bars of a remixed version of coolios “gangsters paradise”) and Aye Bawa (who taught him how to sing and write songs).

He has since been involved with

Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Rising Star (2005) as a contestant.

Idols West Africa (2007) as a contestant.

Youth with a Purpose (YWAP) Nigeria.

In 2008 he graduated from the Federal University of Technology Minna, with a (B.Tech) degree in Library & Information Technology and proceeded for 1 year National Youth Service in 2009 in the city of Asaba, Delta State where he met and worked with two ace producers Ucproff & Jopee (Black Tunes Studio) In May 2010,  he got a job at the country’s National Examinations Council (NECO) and was able to finance the production of his debut album. “My Super Story” which features artists: Mildred, Manasseh, Fury, OJ and Chronic.  Final Mixing and Mastering of tracks was done i61studios Kaduna. The core idea behind the album is Revelations 12:11 and Isaiah 61. Album is available on iTunes, Amazon, O2 online and the rest in stores Nation Wide. Copyrighted by Matchbox Recordings United Kingdom and distributed by Universal Music.

His interests include researching the scriptures of the bible, education and youth empowerment with emphasis on 14-18 year olds in public secondary schools. Having clean fun, hanging out with friends and spreading love to foes, motion picture, animation, inspirational literature, real estate, interiors, German cars, denims, jackets, tees, designer wrist watches, perfumery, little sports, African food and low sugar soft drinks. Just imagine all of that mixed in the music.

“As a singer/songwriter I am commissioned to represent the mind of the listener passing across positive messages of hope through Contemporary Christian music with an extended mix of mainstream naturally reflecting the issues that we deal with in our day to day lives from “the light” point of view. Lyrics that both inspire and bless at the same time in the genre gospel, I call it Pop/Music/R&B Soul. Personally to me music is melody of inner speech being made accessible to listeners in quite creative ways, it is air breath through a microphone and a listen through the ears of a speaker”
