I remember the day clearly. It was at Boothcamp 2008. I had just gotten the new Washington Project album and was trying to convince my friend, Peter to check them out. A couple of minutes came and he walked towards us. I am not sure if he was putting on a hoddie but the shirt was somewhat big. Peter introduced him and he was like “I know him na. Met him last year at boothcamp”. Silly me. We chatted for a bit and he even listened to the song I was begging Peter to listen to. Since then we always exchanged pleasantries. We were never really close but we always saw whenever we met at Boothcamp or if I visited Kaduna. He was by far one of the nicest guys in YWAP. It was not like he was forming “family”. He just genuinely cared and always had encouraging things to say. That was how I knew him.
You can imagine how devastated I was when I woke up this morning to realize that he had passed away. From BBM to Facebook to Twitter, every YWAP-er I knew had been affected by the loss of such an amazing guy. So many questions, so little answers. Truth was he had passed away.
So to Krnoyk,
I am thankful for the time we spent together. Though it was short, I will always remember it. If you could touch my life from a distance, I cannot imagine how you would have affected the lives of your family and those that were close to you. We mourn you here but Heaven rejoices as one of their very own is back home. I pray God will give your family the Grace to handle their loss and give them joy for their sorrow. I am happy that you are in a better place and that I will see you again.
Goodbye Kronyk. Find eternal rest in the arms of our Saviour.
We love you now and forever
Rest in Peace
