“Final: The Rapture” opened to packed crowds at the theaters in Houston and had one of the nation’s highest per-screen averages.
“There was this electrifying atmosphere in the lobby,” says a spokesperson for RiverRain Studios. “People were saved in the lobby, it was incredible.”
One story making news was of a woman terribly shaken by the film, falling to her knees in the lobby and accepting Christ.
Another, a football player, came out crying uncontrollably. “The ending was so emotional, I couldn’t stop crying,” the man said.
One pastor exiting the theater said, “Every single person, Believer and Non-Believer, in America should see this. It’s the best film I’ve ever seen and will bring millions to Christ.”
Exit polls showed over 98% of the movie-goers giving the film a “thumbs up” and recommending the film to others.
The churches, including Houston First Baptist, Lakewood, Tallowood Baptist, Woodlands Methodist, and others, came out to support the film. Also many students from the University of Houston and Rice University came to the theaters.
The film’s trailer also aired on CNN, Fox News, Lifetime, and Daystar and was the subject of a front page article in the Houston Chronicle.
